INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)


As per guidelines of UGC, New Delhi, an Internal Quality Assurance cell was set up in the college in September 2013 in order to fulfil the goals of academic quality enhancement with the aim to achieve higher standards. The IQAC ensures implementation of teaching, learning and evaluation process to achieve quality enhancement. Institutionalization of best practices, motivating students and stakeholders, to provide feedback on curriculum and teaching and learning process, to enhance the research and developmental activities by encouraging the faculty for research Publications,Participating in workshops and conferences are the efforts which are used for quality improvement. Proper documentation of different activities of the college heighten the level of clarity and focus towards quality enhancement. The IQAC of the college works towards the development for quality culture by creating learner-centric environment. The college invited NAAC pear team for accreditation and assessment in December 2015 on the basis of which the college was awarded ā€˜Cā€™ grade by NAAC, valid for next five years.

Functions

  • IQAC was set up in September 2013. The main function of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the college.
  • It constitutes committees for smooth functioning of academic, administrative, and financial activities.
  • It coordinates with all stakeholders at various levels: through informal interaction, official meetings, feedback system, etc.
  • IQAC undertakes academic and administrative auditing by internal committees.
  • Its main objective is to plan and implement quality initiatives and evaluate the same.
  • It analyses the feedback received from all stakeholders and informs the person concerned about its outcome for improvement.
  • It also appreciates, encourages, and provides support required by all staff for their quality sustenance and improvement in teaching, research and administration.

Objectives

  • Developing and applying quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities
  • Scrutinising each Department in detail regarding results, syllabi covered, and time table adherence.
  • Ensuring successful implementation of the corrective actions by the Departments.
  • Ensure timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.
